W. Paul Otten 

A trial attorney for more than 35 years, W. Paul Otten represents individuals and families who have suffered a significant personal injury or the loss of a loved one; including those involved in automobile collisions, medical malpractice claims, slip and fall cases and dog attacks. Paul Otten has achieved major awards for his personal injury clients, both through negotiated settlements and jury trials.

Education

A native of northern Minnesota, Paul Otten received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from the William Mitchell College of Law, St. Paul, Minn. Earlier he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.

Service, Recognition

Paul Otten speaks regularly at professional seminars and continuing legal education programs for attorneys. He has gained considerable professional recognition, including his selection by his peers as a Leading American Attorney. He has been named an Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association and an Arbitrator approved by the Minnesota Supreme Court. Martindale-Hubbell awarded Paul Otten its highest rating.

Additionally, he serves as a Conciliation Court Referee, assists others as a North Star Lawyer and is a frequent volunteer for Legal Assistance of Dakota County. Paul Otten’s firm is rated A+ by the Better Business Bureau and received the Readers Choice Award from Sun Newspapers.

Active in professional associations, Paul Otten is a member of the Minnesota Association for Justice, the Minnesota State Bar Association, the First Judicial District Bar Association and the Dakota County Bar Association. He also serves on the Ethics Committee for the First Judicial District (Dakota and Goodhue Counties).
