Attorney Eric Olson
Eric T. Olson is senior counsel of Otten & Seymour and leads its small business, real estate and banking law practice. An accomplished member of the Twin Cities legal community for almost two decades, he has wide experience in corporate and business law, commercial and residential real estate and banking and financial transactions.
Over the years Olson has represented hundreds of clients, business owners, corporations, developers, contractors and lenders, and worked with them on serious and complex real estate matters. His practice has also encompassed work with institutional lenders, national and state banks and individual owners on commercial and property cases.
Before coming to Otten & Seymour, Olson was the leader of the business transaction, real estate law and banking practice of a Twin Cities law firm. He earlier served as senior counsel with Thrivent Financial, formerly Lutheran Brotherhood, where he was responsible for real estate investment, leasing, commercial real estate acquisition and commercial mortgage lending in the U.S. Olson’s career has also included work as a real estate counsel, title examiner and underwriter for a Twin Cities title insurer.
A cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, Olson earlier earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with magna cum laude honors from the University of Minnesota - Duluth, with an emphasis on finance and human resource management.
Olson is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and its Real Property Section, the Hennepin County Bar Association and the Dakota County Bar Association. A frequent speaker on business and real estate issues, he recently addressed a group of commercial bankers on loan workouts and restructuring strategies.
